The Lonely Bench

The lonely bench

Still waits for You

To sit and enjoy it

When the day is done

And the air is fair

While the sun goes down

But You have never

Been seated here and

You will never do, because

As much and loud

I can cry and pray

You will nevermore

Come back again

And all my Hopes

Lie beside You

To the Unique and Irreplaceable

Vera da Pozzo

Somewhere in the North of Italy

Personal notes about my poem:

The beginning of this poem was already in my head on 24th of July, when I took the first picture.

80% was ready the day later: I wrote it on the train, during the first part of my journey to Lucca, but the connection was so bad that I had to save my poem on a memo in my mobile phone.

My adventures in Lucca, Rome, Catania... and in Rome again, before coming back here, somewhere in the North, have been so many and my journey have lasted longer than I had planned, that I could not finish my poem before yesterday.

I took the second picture on the day of my comeback - I should have been arrived the day before in the late evening, but my train was delayed and I finally arrived at my station after midnight.
