With all the things I do and I have to do, last nigth I realized that it was already the day of release of the 50th anniversary edition of Rough Trade's "intimate history" by Neil Taylor, with a foreword by Morrissey written in Sicily in 2025.
I am so pleased that Morrissey has found my beloved and missed Sicily an inspiring place for writing his foreword, and I am not surprised that he does not mention Catania: he did the same in his post about the 2025 European Tour, where the name of this city is replaced by a generic "Sicily".
I still haven't had the time to write about the fantastic concert in Catania (I write a lot in my head, which runs as fast as lightening) but I think Morrissey enjoyed Sicily, but he did not like Catania very much - I guess because of the starving and often very ill stray cats in Villa Bellini and everywhere in the city. The very sad sight of these poor creatures shocked me: stray cats in Palermo are well treated and fed by residents and thought it was the same in Catania, but not.
Will I find a copy of Document and Eyewitness in Paris before leaving, or will I find it in Rotterdam?
