An interesting article about Morrissey's gig in Cernobbio

Too busy today, I just took a brief pause and a quick look at Morrissey Central after lunch, and I was pleased to find a new post with the link to an interesting article, written in English and posted yesterday on Medium by Jo Gabel, an Italian female fan who attended Morrissey's concert at Villa Erba in Cernobbio. Besides the obvious and necessary cinematographic mentions to Anna Magnani and Luchino Visconti, there are many literary references which speak mostly to well-read Italian or Italian-speaking foreigner readers: many quotes from Pier Paolo Pasolini (who was also a film-maker, by the way) and a hint to the novel I Promessi Sposi, by Alessandro Manzoni, the literary work which gave the start to the unified Italian literary language in the mid 19th Century and which haunts pupils at school. This novel really can be a nightmare if you have had a bad and/or boring teacher; as for me, I was not too much traumatized at school because I had the great chance to discover and to love Manzoni's masterpiece very early (I was eight), thanks to an excellent, uncensored fumetto version (graphic novel, as they say now) cleverly adapted by Carlo Nizzi and beautifully illustrated by Paolo Piffarerio, who both worked for the children and adolescents magazine "Il Giornalino".
