Another Message to cheer me up, while travelling back to my Family

I had just managed to update my long article which follows a poem to the Unique and Irreplaceable One and contains some childhood memories, while entering Italy and getting closer to the part of my family who lives Somewhere in the North and with whom I will spend my school holidays.

I am waiting for the border controls: if the Police is not too busy with people who do not have their ticket, I will proudly show my brand new electronic identity card with a good old-fashioned (God knows why) black-and-white version of my colour photo taken last Christmas, when I still naively thought I could get a passport in time for Morrissey's concert at the O2, and which is strangely and stunningly very similar to a photograph of me which was taken when I was ten years old. I know that I look younger than my real age - it is a family trait - but in this recent photo I look way younger, perhaps because I was thinking about my Mamma when the photographer took this picture.

Waiting for the documents check - that finally never happened - and annoyed by three boring old ladies seating near me, who spend their time taking pictures of themselves to post on FB and staring at and criticize all the travellers sitting near, and especially an obese French lady, I decided to have a look at Morrissey Central and I found a new message from Morrissey with a black-and-white photo of his younger nephew Johnny, taken by his older nephew Sam in New York City last month, before the storm cancelled the CBGB Festival.

I remember when I discovered the fan (???) forum Morrissey-solo and (how naive of me!) I created an account in order to find news about Morrissey's concerts and to practice English by talking about Morrissey's songs with people from other countries - at that time (2008) I had not met any Morrissey's fan yet, as I still had not had the chance to attend a gig.

At that time, Johnny Morrissey (the Father of the young actor in the video of The Monsters of Pig Alley) was a teenager, used his grandmother's name Dwyer and was the frontman of a band called Noise is the Best Revenge (Morrissey's song of the same name is about and dedicated to his younger nephew, I imagine) and they opened for Morrissey on tour in 2008. The amount of hatred online from the "soloers" towards a teenager who happened to be Morrissey's nephew was appalling, and I experienced myself the online bullying from anonymous losers who did not have (and probably still do not have) anything better to do than trolling and bullying people, especially if you are a girl who is an Italian PhD student in Paris and who wants to practice English. The forum taught me a lot of naughty words and clueless, hateful and absurd gossips I did not need nor want to know: I have always hated gossiping, always stayed far away from the gossipers and all the losers spreading false rumours in real life (this does not avoid being a target of their bitchcraft, of course, but it spares valuable time by avoiding their despicable company) and, if everybody was like me, all the gossip paper and online media would bankrupt in less than a week.

By the way, gossips and gossipers have a central part in 1966 British film The Family Way, by the Boulting Brothers, inspired by Bill Naughton's comic play All in the Good Time (1963), based on his Armchair Theatre TV play Honeymoon Postponed (1961). Long before watching this film I heard its soundtrack, composed by Paul McCartney, one of my very favourite living artists and human beings, on a the Italian RAI radio, when I was a teenager.

I deleted my account on M-solo many years ago and I do not regret it: I did not stay there longer than one year and a half or two years maximum. I left between the ending of 2009 and the begininning of 2010 because of the mental trolls, gossipers and haters, and I am very glad I have always refused to join FB, IG et similia, and also WhatsApp, even if my Italian friends think it would be easier to stay in touch.

To me, the social media are the antithesis of sociability.

P. S. ONE HOUR of delay. I will spend the night in the only city in the world I hate, but I have no choice and there are no trains to Somewhere in the North of Italy until tomorrow morning..

Below: visual allegory of Irony. Picture taken by me tonight. My beloved sea is very far from here, but tomorrow I will take another train and I will meet a part of my family Somewhere in the North.

Article by me, edited on an almost sleepless night.
