Too Early for Paris, On Time for Houston

My brain woke me up too early for Paris, but exactly on time for Morrissey's concert in Houston - oh, if only I was there!

I waited for a little while before turning my phone on and I am still in bed, because it is still too early for getting up and going to Alcatraz. I am not on WhatsApp and I do not want to install Tchap neither: how can the Ministery say that this app is safe, if our digital workplace (the espace numérique de travail) and even our professional mailbox have been hacked many times?

Comparing to Italy, where digital security and privacy are taken very seriously, France is an absolute passoire and it is, in my opinion, more worrying than the mortiers de pétards blown up by stupid, angry young people.

Moreover, as the teachers are just petits fonctionnaires publiques, we do not have a professional mobile phone, so, why on earth should we download Tchap on our personal smartphone? I have never downloaded any work-related app, as I avoid apps in general; if only I could avoid using my phone and going on the work-related websites for the e-mails and the digital cahier de textes, I would be perfectly happy.

I would rather use my smartphone only for the few things worth having one: keeping in touch with my family and friends (I don't have too many, and I'm perfectly OK), taking photographs of landscapes, trees, flowers, animals, monuments, interesting things and very few human beings, listening to good music and watching interesting videos on YouTube, writing on my blog and, of course, filming Morrissey in concert.

Meanwhile, Morrissey's show in Houston is about to end now... and one month and one day left before his first concert of the third European leg of 2026 tour, here in Paris.
