"Santuzza" Rosalia, the Happy Hermit

According to her legendary hagiography (to believe in her existence is an 1ct of Faith in itself) Rosalia Sinibaldi refused richness and a marriage with a noble, kind and attractive young man and embraced instead a life of meditation and poverty, surrounded by Mother Nature and her Loving Creatures.

Being the youngest daughter of an introvert Father and a very shy Mother, and having a strong feeling towards Nature and Animals, I was deeply fascinated by the story of the "Santuzza" (the Little Saint) of Palermo and I dreamt of living on Mount Pellegrino, like her.

In 2026, for the 402nd edition of the "Festino di Santa Rosalia", the figure of the Saint Patroness of my Home city is linked to Nature and biodiversity.

Oh, my dearest Santuzza!
