Italian Government is stealing Citizenship and the Right to Vote from Italian Expats

Well, it is not a secret, but let's repeat it: the current Government is one of the worst that Italy have ever had, and it is the rotten fruit of decades of gerontocracy, berlusconism (an extremely aggressive and appallingly vulgar evolution of the existing corruption), and agony of progressist Left - even if it could seem a tautology, nowadays, the Left is not always progressist.

There are seven millions (!!!) of Italian expats throughout the world, and most of them are, like me, young people who had to move elsewhere in Europe.

Whether one thinks that voting can be effective in order to change things for better or not, the right to vote is, like citizenship, a fundamental right that the Italian government is stealing from us: if we want to still "deserve" our right to vote, we have to join the Comites (Comitato Italiani all'Estero), otherwise, we will be completely forgotten by our Country, despite he fact that, if we pay our taxes to the foreign Country we live and work in (which is logical, even if I would like that my money would be used for what really cares and not for financing wars and politicians' luxuries), we spend lots of money when we come back to Italy for holidays and we help our families as much as we can.

The current Government is working hard to make Italy even poorer than it already is and to increase the number of ignorant, vulgar, shallow, bitter and violent people.

Still, Italy is mine and it owes me a living, a passport and my right to vote.
