Gabriel, the Gentle Rock
Gabriel, my favourite Angel: God's left hand and the Gentle Rock, the One who brings Good News to Good People of Good Will.
Drawing below made by me with a black Bic pen last Sunday; I coloured it with shiny gel pens this morning.
The image of a Gentle Rock makes me think of a very well-known Smiths' song (here in its live version from the beautiful concert at the 3Arena in Dublin that started Morrissey's 2025 Summer tour) because Kindness is Strength.
Today's drawing is for YOU, with all my affection and gratitude.
N. B. I am not at all into (old) New Age stuff about angels and I do not believe in devils, demons, etc.: I am a lapsed Catholic with ancient and hidden - yet strong - Sephardic roots and a deep interest in Taoism who always finds God in Nature and sometimes also in deserted churches.
The angel Gabriel is a very important figure in Islam too; I like the fact that the three Monotheistic religions share many things, but, honestly, I really do not care about what are (or not) the other people's beliefs, as long as they are peaceful, respectful of human and animal rights and dignity, and they are neither superstitious nor bigots.

Thank you, Morrissey, for the new messages posted on Central today: it was a nice way to start my day, early this morning: a snippet from Steve Lacy's cover of This Night has opened my Eyes (one of my favourite songs from The Smiths' era) and the lyrics of Without Music the World dies (music by Alain Whyte) which I had the chance to hear at its live debut in Paris, on 8th March 2023 and the night after at the beautiful Salle Pleyel. I hope Morrissey will sing it live again in Paris and Brussels in December. On Oscar Wilde's birthday the song will be released as the B-side of Zoom Zoom the Little Boy; on the same day, the other single Kerching Kerching will be released with Isle of Dogs as its B-side.
